September Becoming a Great Month for Tablets and Gadgets

Google and Asus Team Up to Produce Google's First Tablet

DigiTimes reports that Google will partner with Asus to produce its first foray into the tablet retail market.  The co-branded 7 inch model is expected to be in production in April with an introduction as soon as May.  Google’s selection of Asus was based on Asus’ product quality along with Original Design Manufacturing Capability.  Pricing is expected to be between $199-$249 targeting Amazon Kindle Fire purchasers.

Amazon Targeting Q3 of 2012 for 10.1 Tablet  

DigiTimes is reporting that Amazon will likely release their 10.1 tablet in Q3, while at the same time, holding back the release of its planned 8.9 inch tablet.  The report adds that ”Amazon apparently plans to simplify its product lineup to focus its competition against Apple's iPad, according to industry sources, who also added that the planned 8.9-inch model was originally to take on Samsung's Galaxy Note tablets.”

Neowin.net is reporting that HP will be making comeback rolling out a Windows 8 x86 Tablet.  The tablet will have a 10.1 inch screen and will be thinner than an iPad with 8-10 hours of Battery life and will be known as the HP .  The new replacement for the TouchPad will target business users.  In February, CEO Meg Whitman said that it expects that the company will release an x86 processor-based PCs with Windows 8 installed before the end of 2012. New iPad Running Hot in Cosumer Report Test

Consumer Reports is reporting that their recent test of the new iPad has demonstrated that the new iPad reached 116 degrees.  Tests results published in the Consumer News section had the new iPad running the Infiniti Blade II game uninterrupted for 45 minutes while plugged in.  The Loop reported that Apple responded by stating “the new iPad delivers a stunning Retina display, A5X chip, support for 4G LTE plus 10 hours of battery life, all while operating well within our thermal specifications,” Apple representative Trudy Muller, told The Loop. “If customers have any concerns they should contact AppleCare.”  We’ll keep you updated with any updated news.
